Have you ever felt a Sunday morning church service seemed like an eternity? I don't because I love my church, but I have definitely sat in on some LONG services elsewhere. These folks listened to a verbatim reading of Scripture from early morning until noon and THEN listened to the Levites instruct them about the meaning of the Law. They then experienced deep remorse over the ways they had missed the mark. So much so that they were weeping and had to be quieted by the priests. What a stark contrast between this and the modern American church...
Tomorrow's reading: Neh. 8:13-10:39
