Most of the reading for today was about the fall of Babylon, which would come at the hands of the Medes and Persians (which is another name for Elam) and the hope for Israel I was most struck by the passage from Jer. 31, which had to do with the Lord abolishing the old covenant in favor of a new one. Regarding the new covenant, the Lord says "I will put my instructions deep within them and i will write them on their hearts". This sounds alot like a description of the Holy Spirit! And also, "I will forgive their wickedness and I will never again remember their sins". This sounds like the New Testament concept of justification!
Short and sweet tonight.
Tomorrow's reading: Jer. 51:15-52:3a, 2 Kings 24:10-20a, 2 Chron. 36:10-14, 1 Chron. 3:10-16, Jer. 37:1-10
