Mephibosheth

I'm keeping it short and sweet today. The story of Mephibosheth makes us like David even more, as he made good on a promise known only to he and one other, the deceased Johnathan. He was a man of integrity and compassion and loyalty. The story is also a picture of God's love for us, in that Mephibosheth, like us, had done nothing to deserve the kindness showed to him by David. It was extended to him based on his relationship to Johnathan, whom David loved. And God's grace is extended to us based on our relationship with Jesus, whom He loves! Mephibosheth became like an adopted son to David, as we are to God. Ephesians 5:1 "... he adopted us to be his sons through Jesus Christ..."
