Well, this was one of those readings that you just have to push through. Very tempting to skim, and I confess I did once I realized that it was twelve identical paragraphs! Moving into the books of Leviticus and Numbers tomorrow. You've now read three books of the Bible in their entirety...Genesis, Exodus, and Job!
Tomorrow's reading: Numbers 8-9:14; Leviticus 1-3:17

So glad I'm not the only one who skimmed today! I realized the wording was the same on the second guy and did the same. I am intrigued by the level of specificity of God's instructions in Exodus. The "rules" are exhausting and I grapple with the "whys" of God's ways in these early times. I am so thankful for the Holy Spirit who lives in us and makes a personal relationship so much easier than it was in the early times!
ReplyDeleteAs God was instructing the details of the ark and everything associated with it, I was wondering if Moses was taking notes, or if he was able to remember everything. I guess that is the human thought of the divine instructions, but I thought "Wouldn't those notes be awesome to see!"
ReplyDeleteI do agree with Amanda - the specificity and rules would be hard to remember and follow. But it sure didn't leave as much room for mis-interpretation as we have today.
